ESG decreases the size of the stomach with an endoscopic procedure to help with weight loss.
Endoscopic Revision restores the sense of fullness that you experienced from a previous bariatric surgery including : gastric bypass or sleeve gastrectomy.
The ORBERA is a soft silicone balloon placed endoscopically inside the stomach and filled with saline. The balloon helps you to feel full and eat less, resulting in weight loss.
At 4ward Wellness, we recognize that medications can play an important role in weigh loss. Depending on your needs, we can prescribe oral or injectable medications that are FDA approved for weight loss. Our pharmacologic program is individualized to your health goals.

We are part of Albany Gastroenterology Consultants and utilize a patient-centric approach that specifically addresses the challenges faced when endeavoring to lose weight. Albany Gastroenterology Consultants is the largest gastroenterology practice in the New York Capital Region and has been dedicated to providing excellent patient care for decades.
Our team consists of advanced endoscopy trained and triple board certified gastroenterologists who are credentialed in performing specialized endobariatric procedures. These techniques include endoscopic sleeve gastroplasty (ESG), bariatric revision procedures, and gastric balloon placement. We also offer anti-obesity medications for patients who qualify and a personalized care approach to help maintain weight loss results.
During an office consultation visit, one of our providers will meet with you to discuss your medical history, your journey thus far in achieving weight loss, and your goals. Based on this discussion, we will determine whether you are a good candidate for one of the endobariatric procedures and/or weight loss medication.
Our patient coordinator will work with you to schedule any pre-procedure testing/labs and create a payment plan that works for you.
We will work with you to schedule you for your procedure in a safe setting depending on your needs.
You will be instructed to be on a clear liquid diet 48 hours prior to your procedure. You will also be prescribed some medications for use before your procedure.
Please bring your chaperone with you (someone you trust, who will be taking you home after your procedure). When you arrive, you will meet your care team consisting of nurses, anesthesia providers, and your gastroenterologist. You will receive IV fluids and continue the prescribed medications prior to your procedure to help minimize nausea and pain. After your procedure, you can continue the prescribed medications to help alleviate any nausea and pain that you may experience.
You will arrive at our infusion center for IV hydration. We will check in with you at this time about how you are feeling. You will also have scheduled follow ups with us soon after your procedure. Most patients can return to work in less than 1 week after the procedure. You will be given a booklet with instructions regarding your diet and activity. We also offer an aftercare nutritional program to help you through your recovery, tools to help you stay on track, counseling and peace of mind that you are being cared for.
